Manage mulitple email accounts

What do you recommend for a program that can:
1. send and recieve emails from multiple POP3 accounts, and
2. do it web based.
Thanks all, and I appreciate any help.

Hi Jason,

Believe it or not, I use a free email provider to manage my multiple email addresses! I use Gmail... Gmail ets you manage multiple accounts.

Here's how to do it. In Gmail, go to "Settings", then "Accounts". From there, you can add multiple email addresses... (If you don't have a Gmail account, to get one go to www.gmail.com and click on "Sign up for Gmail".)

So I do (almost) everything from within Gmail. I just change where the email is "from" to whichever email address is appropriate...

I also have my various email addresses, old and new, forwarded to my Gmail account. So I can handle it all from one place.

Also, Gmail has a pretty good spam filter. That's what really "got me" to use it in the first place. (I get a couple hundred spam emails every day, because I like to keep my email address public so anyone can reach me. I used to spend 20-30 minutes every day just deleting spam! And that was after I was already using a spam-filter!)

So there you go... That's the detail on my email!

I hope it's helpful. :)

Yup - I recommend Gmail too.

I used Thunderbird for the longest time. But spam got un-manageable (it happens when you have 13 different email addresses) - and so moved everything to gmail 4-5 weeks back. No complaints yet.

Gmail has one of the best spam filters. And one of the best search email features.

Another great feature about gmail is - their archives feature. Keeps the inbox clean - and doesn't overwhelm you.

And the tags thing is wonderful to use if you are familiar with it (although some people don't like tagging as it just confuses them.)

Hello Jason,

Like Dien and Ankesh, I like GMail a lot as well. It does keep your inbox clean and their SPAM filters are arguably the best ones I've come across (and I've used Hotmail, Yahoo, Lycos, Everyone.net, etc.) The search function is very nice as well to find the email message from a few weeks ago (better than Hotmail's - it rarely finds the message I'm looking for, whereas GMail's search finds what I'm looking for virtually the first time every time.)

One notice though: You need to have a text-based cellular phone in order to sign up for GMail - this helps GMail cut down on SPAM. Otherwise, you will need to have a friend who already has GMail send you an invitation.

I can send you a GMail invitation if you like - just PM me and leave your email address - I'll send you your invitation right away! :-)

Take care and have a great day!

Sincerely,

Joe Chengery III

Thanks, Dien!
I am going to give GMAIL a try, too. Spam is stealing my time! I am new to the forum, but it has already been entertaining and helpful.
