Posting Ads for Auto Dealers On CraigsList.
Posting Ad’s for Auto Dealers On CraigsList.
I wonder if you could post ads for auto dealers on craigslist. I know it’s free to post but if there was a program that would post many ads at a time, I think some dealers may pay for this service, I’m not sure. I may look into this a little more. The idea I’m thinking of is after my wife and I fix the paint chips on a car, we could take a photo and post it on craigslist as a free bonus, it doesn’t cost us anything but a few minutes of time and I know that no other paint chip company is doing this. If there was a multiple poster program it would even be a better free bonus. I think I read that craigslist gets 87 million visitors. That's a lot of traffic!!! Any thought on this. Re: Posting Ads for Auto Dealers On CraigsList.
Jason,
I would suggest that you tread lightly here. Recently I read (I think it was on the Warriors Forum) that Craigslist was really cracking down on commercial inserts. Don't remember what the whole "jist" of it was, but check it out closely first. Pete |
Why not think about....
....offering to List Vehicles on....."EBAY MOTORS"?
MORE vehicles are sold here Daily than 1,000 Auto Dealers combined (so I've read) There are people doing this now. They charge a Listing Fee...then a fee when the car sells. As long as you do not take a "commission" you should not run into any "License" problems. You would simply be offering an "Advertising" service. I found a guy in Portland making a bundle doing this for Dealers. Ebay Motors get over a millyun hits a day. There are also some "courses" on "How To List Vehicles on Ebay Motors." You could charge a "Flat Listing Fee"....in 2 payments. If a vehicle does not sell....they don't pay the 2nd Installment. This way....you could tell your Auto Dealer clients; "GUARANTEED TO SELL....OR DON'T PAY THE FEE!" Well worth the effort and time to check it out. Don Alm |

Jason,
You might want take a look at VFlyer: http://www.vflyer.com/main/AutoDelears.jsp I have not used it yet, but it does offer some nice professional templates and lots of classified ad feeds. Good luck! Rod |
Try this....
Sign up for "VFlyer"....learn the ins and outs about it....become proficient at it....then....offer this service to Dealers.....and charge a "pretty penny" for your service....which could also include your taking PHOTOS of the vehicles.
The guy in Portland who puts cars on Ebay Motors....charges $400 fee; $200 to list the vehicle and $200 when it sells....and a LOT of his entries sell. He has a special deal with ebay as a "reseller" or "wholesaler" so he's paying less than the $40 Listing and $40 Transaction Fee. AND....pay NO attention to anyone who tells you; "Why bother offering this kind of service to Car Dealers....they'll just find out how you do it and do it themselves!" Horse-Hockey! Statements like these come from people who have NEVER dealt with "Business People" before. Don Alm |
Re: Posting Ads for Auto Dealers On CraigsList.
Jim is correct. I helped a laid off buddy of mine start an E-Bay business a few years ago and he now makes over 35K a month and has asked E-Bay for a volume discount and they have declined.
E-Bay listing costs are firm. |
