Hotsheets and Press Releases
Aloha Friends,
Now that PRWeb charges $40 per press release, I went looking for FREE alternatives. I decided that I would share some awesome results that I had this morning -- so you can bookmark this site... http://www.OpenPR.com I sent this press release in at about 0530 hours and by 0930 hours it had hit Google News and the traffic started rolling in. OpenPR.com -- Bio-Warfare Expert Warns Of Bird Flu Misinformation I am going to try and capitalize on this by doing another release tonight, in the hopes that it hits in the morning for the beginning of the US news cycle. I am going to try and get on the radio show "Coast to Coast AM" next. That is a big goal -- but I think I can do it. If anyone has advice concerning radio shows I would be appreciative. Aloha, Jason |
Re: Hotsheets and Press Releases
Jason, great stuff.
The press release is well written - ie. professional. One note: there's a typo in the first link to the hotsheet site ... bidfluehotsheet.com ... guess it's too late to do anything about it, but maybe you can catch it for your second round. |
Re: Hotsheets and Press Releases
Here's another perspective on bird flu:
"Two new studies help explain why human-to-human transmission of the bird flu virus has so far not happened -- and might not happen in the future. Both reports found the H5N1 virus prefers to settle in cells deep within the lungs, rather than in the upper respiratory tract, as happens with human flu strains." http://tinyurl.com/2bvxsw Quote:

Re: Hotsheets and Press Releases
Two resources for getting on an audio station or generating any other kind of PR:
1. Joan Stewart - http://www.publicityhound.com/ 2. Book - Guerilla Publicity - http://www.amazon.com/Guerrilla-Publ.../dp/1580626823 Both will show you how to create a quick media kit. With your Q&A, biosheet and a few samples. Both give you some ideas on how to approach the media people. Then there is Paul Hartunian's PRKit too - which I recommend - but its more expensive. - http://www.PRHotsheet.com |

I know! THAT is a huge mistake. One that I am probably paying for in lost traffic. Aloha, Jason |

Aloha Bill, That is an old press release from early 2006. Unfortunately, the info in the release has been totally discredited. 1. Human-to-human transmission is a reality... NYTimes -- "Human Flu Transfers May Exceed Reports" 2. As is upper-respiratory tract infection... The Standard -- "Researchers shed new light on workings of deadly H5N1 virus" The information changes so fast -- that is what allows me to turn my hotsheet into a subscription based service. Re: Hotsheets and Press Releases
Thanks Ankesh!!
It looks like I need to expand my PR library. And I am working on a media kit right now. I have Marcia Yudkin's book and Joe Vitale's "Advanced Hypnotic Marketing" too. Believe it or not, Joe's book is the best one I have seen on press releases. Too bad he decided to roll that into a big $$$ product. Most people can't afford it now. Aloha, Jason |

.. er. in your shoes I would have registered the mis-spelled domain and pointed it back to your site. It would be the sensible option! Margaret ... :D - commission checks can be sent to ..... LOL! |
Interesting Bio Hazard Story To Weigh In On
Jason,
I like the press release. I think each one of your bullets on your sale page could be turned into another press release. Speaking of turns and twist in the bio hazard field here's another: Human Fat Fuel Pumps Up Bio Diesel Industry |

Aloha Garth,
LOL! Now THAT is gross. That has to be a farce. Aloha, Jason |
