Yes obit writing could be an interesting one.

I wrote a post some time ago about obituary copyrwriting. It seems the Brits have a particular fascination with it so you might want to check out UK newspapers for more ideas.

One a related note here's a fella in Florida that's making a killing
from jailhouse mug photo newspaper he calls JAIL.

sEEMs like perfect idea to niche to celeb mug shot newspaper. You can start with Naomi Campbell unfortunately she has way too many of them.
