book recommendation
Aloha!
I just discovered the Seeds of Wisdom Forum through a friend and would like to recommend a book. The book is called "Nonviolent Communication - A Language of Compassion" by Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.d. This book has made an incredible impact on me and I am excited to share it with others. NVC (Nonviolent Communication) helps us to connect with ourselves and each other in a way that allows our natural compassion to flourish. If anyone would like more information or is already familiar with NVC, please let me know! From Kona coffee country, Cathy Koa Coffee Plantation |

I love Hawaii.... :)
Aloha Cathy,
Thank you for the book recommendation! It sounds like it's very good.... I'll see if I can find a copy in the bookstore.... :) You also have a great looking web site.... I love Hawaii! I did some of my very early growing up years in Hawaii (on Oahu), and I went there on holiday with my family too as a teenager.... I haven't had the chance yet to go back since then, but I'd love to. I love the sun and the surf, so it sounds like a good place to be.... :) As Gordon says, we'd love to relocate the Sowpub headquarters to Hawaii. :) I also have another friend, a dolphin-therapy researcher, who has plans to relocate to Hawaii too to run a research center.... We can't get enough of paradise on earth.... :) And coffee.... Gosh, I feel like making a cup right now, and drinking in that delicious flavor. :) Cheers, Dien |

Julie, my high school mascot was the Mighty Duck
Hi Julie,
Aren't some of the mascots for high schools really strange? I think I would have rather had your dolphin, though, for a mascot than a duck...such as my school in Texas did! :) Yep, all the other schools in our school district had mascots of Lions, Tigers, Wolves and Panthers. Of course, those players were really trembling with fear when facing off on the football field against the mighty fine fightin' Ducks. Or at least we hoped so. It was humbling. We kept our chin up though! ~ Amber .I went to Dana Hills > High School, mascot is "The Mighty > Mighty Dolphin"...never got how a > Dolphin is Mighty but they are magnificent! JULIE |
Hey, You Oughtta See The Pond in Anaheim!
Hi there Amber!
> Of course, those > players were really trembling with fear when > facing off on the football field against the > mighty fine fightin' Ducks. ****If you played in a Pond like the Anaheim Pond, where the Mighty NHL ducks play, then there WOULD be fear and trembling! LOL! My first highschool had a made-up mascot. The Glen Ridge Ridgers, and the Ridger was some sort of weird two headed zebra. Go figure on that one! Come to think of it, the Ridgers had a consistently terrific record, a lot better than the Mighty Mighty Dolphins! Actually, DHHS had a good surf team (no kidding) a good water polo team, a good golf team AND a good tennis team. We did well in the Preppie Sports..... Great to see you, Amber! JULIE |
Re: Any Decaf? Cookie Cutters?
Aloha Julie,
Yes, we do offer 100% Kona decaf! If you go back to the website, click on "shop Hawaii" then "coffee beans" and then you will see the coffees offered. The decaf is at the bottom of both "whole bean" and "ground." I look forward to connecting with people who are learning NVC (non violent Communication). I forgot to leave the website for NVC last time. If you are interested, go to: www.cnvc.org For all of those who have responded to the possibility of moving to Hawaii...all I can say is "go for it!" With much Aloha, Cathy > ***Aloha, Cathy! Welcome to Sowpub! > ***Thanks for the recommendation. I will > definitely be looking for it pronto. > And do you have anything in Decaf?
