Thanks Phil... Great idea!

By the way, did you know, the idea for Southwest Airlines (a no-frills, low-cost airline) was first conceived on a napkin?

Also, Richard Branson's scrawled "Virgin" logo was also first created as a hasty doodle on a cocktail napkin.

In my history as a physicist, I can attest that many physics ideas are doodled on napkins (and brown paper bags, table cloths, and whatever is handy at the time!). At one university I know, one on-campus restaurant covers each table with a with plain paper tablecloth, so all the academics can doodle on it to their heart's delight while eating lunch. (There's probably a business idea in there somewhere...)

The word "napkin" comes from the French word "nappe", which means a cloth covering a table, plus the suffix "-kin", which means a small version of it. So a "napkin" literally means a "little tablecloth"! I think it's because - in the old days - everyone would just wipe their mouth and hands with the tablecloth!

Thanks for posting the advertising "twist" on napkins, Phil!
