Please Help!! How do you make an ebook...

Hello Folks, sorry if this may sound like a "not so smart" question, but I just do not know and all the ebooks I have do not explain it. I am a complete novice.

Here's my problem. I have an pdf ebook all ready to go but I do not know the next process. I do know I need a website, a host but from there I am lost. I want ot sell though paydotcom.com.

The big question is how do you make an ebook downloable from your website. After a customer pays they need to be redirected to a download page/link and I do not know how to set things up correctly where the customer will get thier product.

I have been reading about FTP's but I am still confused.

Could someone please give me some guidance.

Thanks
kelle

Kelle,

First of all.. RECONSIDER Paydotcom. Too shakey.

Secondly, it sounds like you know how to upload your product to your website, so all you have to do is: a) build a "thank you" page for your site, and two, on that thank you page you put a download link for your book.

ie: www.mywebsite.com/mybook.pdf

The buyer then right clicks on the link, and is able to download the pdf.

It's Pretty Simple ...

Hi Kelle,

Thanks for ASKing about FTP and Website Stuff.

Here is a link (thanks to Google) for a "How To" on FTP:
http://www.ftpplanet.com/ftpresources/basics.htm

(it might make a good topic for a Hotsheet for HotsheetCity.com, ahem, Michael... :D )

When You get an account with a webhost,
You will be emailed info on Your FTP login information,
such as:
username
password
ftp address
(example, [email protected], password, ftp.kelle.com)

You will have to download and install an FTP Client (aka, an FTP program.)
All of the instructions are in the link above.

Hope that this Helps Ya!

Christopher

Hey Kelle,

I don't know a thing about paydotcom, but you can also sell digital goods with Paypal or www.clickbank.com and unless you already have a merchant account you'll need one of them to process payments for you anyhow.

The Hotsheet Exists...

Christopher,

Thanks for the Hint.

Actually, I do have available a Hotsheet called "How To Sell Ebooks On Autopilot With Paypal" which can be found here http://www.hotsheetcity.com and it does have links to some FTP software.

Paypal or 2Checkout.com make the process of selling ebooks, goods, services, recurring payments etc. pretty easy. First get this working before you promote it though as you need to work out the issues before customers start buying.
