HELP! My computer crashed ...
 

On Saturday; 10/6/07, my computer crashed. -- It doesn't happen very often on a MAC but when it does there is hell to pay because nobody ... even Apple support ... knows how to recover the files I lost.

I finally got my email working early Thursday morning; 10/11.

My backups were kept on a separate disc segment but it was corrupted too.

Looks like I lost about half of my list. -- SO ... I am in the process of recovering whatever I can.

Been using Macs for just over a decade myself, and coincidentally just had my first major hard drive crash a couple months back. Fortunately had most of my important info on another HD as well (don't just copy to another partition on the same drive). I'm way overdue for a new computer anyway

Even for corrupt and deleted files...

Jim....there's a guy down in Medford, Oregon who has helped, some folks I know, to recover their stuff after a major crash.

Only 2 problemos;

1) He charges $3,000 to recover your stuff

2) He's booked soldid for 9 weeks
