ClickBank scam warning
Someone's trying to harvest clickbank account details. The email looks like this:
From: "www.clickbank .com" To: [email protected] Date sent: Sat, 12 Jul 2003 15:45:50 -0500 Subject: ClickBank Payment Policy Update CLICKBANK Dear ClickBank Vendor, we have recently updated our Payment Policy. Please login to your account to read the updated payment policy for clickbank vendors. http://clickbank.com/login.html Thanks for using ClickBank! -- _______________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com CareerBuilder.com has over 400,000 jobs. Be smarter about your job search Obviously the from address is a free email provider. I this case - as the ad at the bottom says - it is a name provided by mail.com If you click on the link - which is a valid clickbank address. That is... http://clickbank.com/login.html is the actual login link at the clickbank site. In this email, however, it is not the underlying URL. The underlying URL is actually: http://www.geocities.com/clickbankpolicy/clickbank-login.html Again. It looks identicle to Clickbank's login page. But it is hosted on geocities. Be very careful out there folks. Michael Ross The Great Ideas Letter |
Thanks Michael! (DNO)
