Here's How To Get Your Wrought Iron Railings Looking Like New...In A JiffY!

(SubHead)
Gary The Painter working for "peanuts" making railings gleaming bright on YOUR street
tomorrow.

Hello Neighbour,

My name is Gary, and I'm a hardworking Professional Wrought Iron Painter who takes pride in a job well done.

Problem: You're unhappy with the way your railings look

Problem: Painting is a pain, and is messy, and makes your clothes dirty and smelly. Besides who has the time?

Solution: Get your railings done properly by someone who knows what he's doing.

Solution: Your Wrought Iron Railings will sparkle with not just one, but two fresh coats
of paints in your choice of colours.

Solution: You'd think that a professional painter like me with 15 years experience of painting all types of wrought iron work will charge and arm and a leg, right?

Surprise!

The cost for a beautiful paint job will be so low, and the service so satisfactory, you'll refer me to all your friends and neighbours (as so many of my customers do).

By the way...

For the next TWO DAYS ONLY, I'm offering a 20% discount if you refer me to 2 friends or neighbours.

I'm looking forward to serving you!

Call me right now (Big Bold) Telephone number: 555-555-5555

Sincerely,

Your friendly professional,

Gary The Painter

Re: Flyer Critique

Here's what I would do:
Make Flyer with 2 photos and following copy;

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I CAN CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR HOME....INSTANTLY!

FROM THIS....... TO THIS........!

(Photo of Before) (Photo of After)

CALL ME FOR A NO OBLIGATION ESTIMATE!

GARY SMITH.......555-1212

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

With Flyers, people do NOT have TIME to READ your life history or any of your copy....all they want to know...WITH 3 SECONDS...is...WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME!
And...there's no better way to do this than with a Before & After PHOTO.

Don makes a good point...

pictures are worth a thousand words.

If you can afford the photos (MUST be color) on your flyers - that would be the way to go.

Combine Brents idea (shorten it some) with Dons' suggestion and away you go!

This is a personal opinion .... of course. :0)

Good Luck!

Re: Don makes a good point...

Hi Gary,

Don's suggestion hits the mark perfectly.

The old before and after shots really work (I would suggest black & white ... colour is too expensive).

Years ago there was a guy here in Australia who made thousands of dollars each week selling a product through display ads in the paper.

The product was common, many people doubted you could sell this product via direct response methods. He proved them wrong.

Anyway, the main thrust of his advertising was a before and after shot. The product? Grass seeds!

It just goes to show that people like seeing the results they are going to get, not just reading about them.

With a flyer, you've got no time to muck around. If you don't get the attention of the prospect right away your flyer will be trashed. A good before and after shot will help ... no doubt about it.

Stick with Don's suggestion.

Best of luck,

Pete Godfrey

Re: Flyer Critique

I'm going with dons, I must have got 8-10 good
replies and that is the best one.

The before and after photo is the killer.

Hey guys for the effort and to help others still
in direct sales, I am oing to put up a web page
listing the results for each Flyer after I get
them delivered.

Thanks All,

Gary Creed
