Question For the Braintrust (Michael, Dien, Boyd, Jim Straw et al.):

What would you do-

My local free weekly offers free ads for private party ads selling merchandise (not services) for less than $100. The question is - what to sell?

I guess the real question is: what can I sell continuously for around $90 - $95 at a decent profit? And where can such items be bought?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim

You will be considered a business if you run the same ad for the same thing repeatedly. If you say, "It still hasn't sold" then they will only give you so many free ads before asking you to pay.

This is how my local paper handle their "free ads for items below $100" option.

How does you paper handle it? Know the answer to this before figuring out what to sell.

Hi Tim,

I'm not one of the braintrust...but we take advantage of free classified advertising on a weekly basis. We sell used auto parts, and each week we submit a different item for sale.

Example: 82 - 93 Chev. S-10 Left Fender $40
