No -- this is not an ad... just a question...
I'm working on an audio CD that helps small biz owners get the right MINDSET where marketing is concerned.
It's a real CD (not digital) -- 1-hour long. If I JV with the right people, how many of these could I realistically sell within one month of launch? I'm thinking $17 -- I get 50% -- JV's get 50%. Or, put another way, how long might it take to sell 800 of 'em? Note: I would be proactive in trying to get JV partners, not just leave it to clickbank or similar (yes, I know they only do digital products any way (?)). Thanks for nay guidance. -- TW |
Re: No -- this is not an ad... just a question...
My suggestion is to try and get ahold of everything Peter Sun has done.
I met Peter at a Bill Myer's seminar in Hot Springs, AR in 1996...just 12 short yrs ago. Peter bought the rights to Bill's "Small Business Marketing" package for Australia....and turned it into a Multi-Milion Dollar deal. Back in 1996, Peter and I spent an entire evening from 7pm till 2am, ... discussing Entroopeneerism and Marketing and a ton of stuff. He was a wonderfully POSITIVE guy. And I loved meeting and getting to know him. I could sense he "Had The Midas Touch"...and I felt extremely fortunate to have met him. He wanted to introduce Aussie business people to "How To Market Their Small Business". He started out by selling $1,000 packages...then re-packaged them with additional CD's for $5,000...then to $10,000 packages. He told me many times, "If you have something worthwhile to sell, then, don't give it away, CHARGE for it! Get what it's WORTH!" Peter's now very comfortable. Other people I've known have also taken a program to "Help Small Business" into the millyuns. Here's a TIP; Something that has worked for me back in the Ol' days before the Internet and even CD's. I'd sell a low-priced Intro Program for $49 to business people then, because I could only get 1.4 megs onto a Floppy....I'd put a "Back-End" program on the Floppy I sent to my customers and in the Material was a Sales Letter that spelled out the benefits of my "UpGrade" program....then...at the close of the Letter I mentioned that...."They ALREADY have the Material I'm selling! It's ON the Floppy...BUT, it's encrypted, they ALREADY have it in their hot little hands.... and...to UNLOCK it, they had to call me with their Credit Card info to get the Secret Password. This "Marketing Tecnique" helped me sell LOTS of "Back-end" programs. I those days (Just 12 yrs ago) I had to use special Compression Programs to get the bytes onto a 1.4meg Floppy. Nowadays a CD can hold 650 or more megs. Plenty of space for most Back-End programs. Thanks for reading, Don Alm....entroopeneer |
Takeaway selling at it's best....
I don't think there's anything more irresistible than knowing you have something in your greedy little hands but you can't "have" it until you do one more thing...
namely, spend more money :) I especially like this quote from your message... {He told me many times, "If you have something worthwhile to sell, then, don't give it away, CHARGE for it! Get what it's WORTH!" Peter's now very comfortable.} and the fact that you charged 50$ for an intro product. How quickly we think we need to lower prices, yet the same people were selling to are spending $100's at a time shopping for themselves or their kids at places like american eagle Speaking of american eagle - they're getting $20 for a lewd, grubby, plain ol teeshirt cause kids are willing and wanting to pay that much for it. Think about that (I will too) before you think you need to bump down the price. Instead, add a few things to the product, turn it into a system or hell, a mini-system and RAISE the price... There, that's my 20,000 cents Take care and make lotsa money :) Andy Moose andymoose.com <-- coming soon,... first newsletter is almost ready,... but watching micheal phelps and the rest of the swimmers was first on my list last week :) |
Realistically? Realistic? and Mindset
Hi TW,
I was reading your post, and ONE word jumped out at me. It's a word that I have been "questioning" every time I or I see, somebody else using it. ALARM BELLS go off in my brain causing me to STOP and THINK. Yes the word is Realistic or Realistically or whatever variation thereof. Specifically in your post when you asked. "how many of these could I realistically sell within one month of launch?" Now I know you rephrased, the question with a specific number of 800 so I am just commenting on the use of the Word Realistic and how it can be a "Mindset" limiter. I was in a training session with Stuart Lichtman whom I have mentioned before and somebody had asked. Whether it was realistic to use his goal setting techniques for the thickening of thinning hair? I enjoyed his reply so much, I saved it in my records and ever since have been Questioning my own use of the word realistic. Here is what Stuart's reply was to the hair question: Realistic? I'm not sure what that is. The dictionary definition of realistic is "Tending to or expressing an awareness of things as they really are." On that count, the term "realistic" is almost nonsensical because the probability that we can experience "what is" is almost zero given perceptual, mental processing and blocker impediments. However, if your underlying question is whether I think it will work, my thinking goes as follows So that was the reply that I have read over a thousand times. How many times have WE ALL asked the question "Is this realistic?" of somebody when perhaps a more accurate question would be "Do you think this will work"? Something to "Realistically" think about :D REALLY!!:D Quote:
