new google standards ?
was reading a new report on google and its algorithms ...reminds me of phycis class...
indicating that the .edu , .org, and .info sites are rated higher than .com since I did not buy this report , and dont have the ability or knowldoge to verifiy , thought I would ask you guys what you know about this since I am pondering buying several domain names for local businesses and want to have a high rating for the name as possible. thanks guys |
Re: new google standards ?
Yes, but if you get a name with those 'odd' extensions, *every time* the owner gives out the name, he/she must EXPLAIN + OVER EMPHASIZE that it is NOT .com. The over emphasis will have to be to the point of ABSURDITY!!!
As in, "remember, that's dot-O-R-G, ***NOT*** dot-com -- now, don't forget, that's DOT-ORG -- ***NOT*** dot-com..." etc., etc., etc.!!! Not worth it (the never ending aggravation), imo. It's like having an 866 number, instead of an 800 #. A complete pain! -- TW |

hey TW,
thought you might want to know this little tip: 80/20 rule. If you have customers like that dragging you down and they're not adding much to your bottom line, consider dropping them. |
