An Entrepreneurial Charity...?
I just came across this fascinating website... The best I can describe it is as an "entrepreneurial charity"... That is, it uses entrepreneurial principles in aid of a good cause...
Here's how it works. The whole idea was started by a 24-year-old Norwegian (that is, he's from Norway). Companies or individuals donate $7 per pair of shoes, to provide shoes to those who need them... The shoes will be distributed to various charities, and he also plans to distribute some of them directly to Kenya and Ethiopia, in Africa. The donor's own ad or logo will be put on each pair of shoes they pay for. They'll also get their ad appearing (randomly) on his website. The goal is to give away 1 million pairs of shoes! You can check out his website here - http://www.myshoeads.com It just shows that you can use entrepreneurial principles to apply to many things - including for a good cause! I thought it was a fascinating idea and example... Best wishes :) Dien |
