Anyone know where I can get a list like this?...
I want to promote one of my businesses via doing interviews on radio stations.
What I need is a list of SMALLER, small town talk-format stations (read: 'dinky' stations), so I can start out on smaller stations to get better + better at the process, before I break into the 'big time.' In the performing biz, we call it 'a place to be bad.' Do you know where I can get such a list? Thanks! I CAN already find directories of radio stations -- but none of them seem to be able to be sorted by listenership -- or even wattage/power. -- TW |
Re: Anyone know where I can get a list like this?... Rest in peace Paul Harvey...
TW,
Here you go... :) Try reviewing and/or contacting a few of the following resources... http://www.newsgeneration.com/radio_resources/terms.htm http://www.nab.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home http://www.arbitron.com/home/content.stm http://www.rtndf.org/ http://www.radionewssource.com/ http://www.radioheardhere.com/ http://www.radio-locator.com/ Talking about Radio... In case some haven't already heard... So unfortunate but 90 years of age Paul Harvey surely enjoyed a Great life.. All those Amazing years on radio with all his Great stories, especially his Advertising story telling... ;) Thankfully his son has been keeping the Good ol' Paul Harvey stories going... Rest in peace Paul Harvey... I'll be forever listening to those archives... http://news.google.com/news?ned=ca&hl=en&q=Paul+Harvey Phil |
Paul Harvey -- legend for good reason!...
I will miss him greatly too!
As a performer (and deep-down believer in E-Myth tenets) myself, many years ago I asked myself which performer I had (any) respect for, in terms of character + career choices. The only name I could come up with was Paul Harvey. He understood and FOLLOWED the teachings of Michael Gerber -- *as much as a performer can* (economy of scale + minimum work load), AND he conducted his life (as far as i know) with dignity + a strong moral compass. That is a RARE combo in the entertainment biz -- so much so, that I adopted the phrase, "WWPHD" when trying to make choices in my life. It didn't land me a 100 million $ contract like he got, but it has stood me in good stead. PH was a real inspiration to me + millions of people. And, Phil -- thanks for the links! I'll check 'em out! Cheers -- or should I say... GOOD DAY!! -- TW |
