Keyboard Tip....

If you have a problem with the letters on the keyboard wearing off read on...if not this won't apply to you.

This is not a wide sread problem but some people, like me, have something in their system that collides with the lettering and wears it off quite quickly - long before the keyboard's life has been exhausted.

After investigating all the possible solutions...all too expensive for my liking...I discovered a way to extend the life of the keyboard until it actually died of overuse and old age.

Coat the top of each key on the keyboard with clear nail polish...I use Hard As Nails.

My consumption of keyboards has now gone from one every three months to one every two years.

Hi, Cornell - I hope the girls don't charge ya too much for the nail polish :) - that's a great tip. The nail polish trick will also work on the back of some jewelry when people react to some of the metals used.

Nail polish idea is great but one caution: be very careful to keep the polish only on the top of the key. Make sure to remove excess from the brush before application. If polish runs over the side you could have major problems! This is especially true if you have one of those inexpensive 'membrane' type keyboards that come with some computers.

You are correct Sandi, but I have had it go down in without consequence...same with pop, tea, coffee, ice cream, and more....the one that did the big damage was the pregnant cat's water when it broke - you would not believe the damage it did to the circuitry.

Obviously you don't have a membrane type keyboard, Cornell. They're a pit when they get anything on them.

Tell your girls to watch out for those frat guys...they're unpredictable sometimes. ;)
