Coupon Book for Home Buyers
Has anyone ever (or tried) to put together a coupon book that Real Estate agents would give to home buyers?
I was thinking of including things that a home buyer needs (or might need) such as painters, carpet cleaners, plumbers, electricians, etc. Plus I would include restaurants, dry cleaners, etc. Thought was to get the value of the coupons up to something like $2,500. I would drop of 20 of them to each Real Estate office and additional ones would cost them the hard cost of each book, plus a little for me. Each advertiser would have to pay anywhere from $500 to $2,500?? Selling to advertisers would be by postcard, phone and maybe by putting an ad on Craigslist for a sales person. I haven't called any Real Estate agents yet but I know there are a few here. Any thoughts? Matt |

I did this one MANY YARS ago. Here's what I did; 1) Made a MockUp to show Realtors and Advertisers (Mine was a Booklet with Discount Coupons (31/2 high by 8 1/2 wide) with a Cover that had the Realtors Logo, Name & Address on it) (Called it, The WELCOME Book!) 2) Showed MockUp to realtor (C-21 was the first. They had 30 agents) Told realtor it was FREE to him provided he agreed to hand out 1,000. 3) Sold Coupons to advertisers for $495 (For 1,000 Coupons) Usually got 30 advertisers. Called my next one, "The Home-Buyer's MONEY Book!" Realtors LOVED it. So did advertisers. I also made up these Coupon Books for "New Car Dealers". Free to the Dealer, who agreed to hand them out to consumers who came in for a "Test Drive". Advertisers who wanted to reach "Car Buyers" LOVED to give me their $495 for 1,000 of these Books. All it takes is a little creativity with your pc, inkjet printer and some "gumption" to show your Mock-Up to New Car Dealers and get the to "Sign" your Participation Agreement....then...once you have the Dealers "OK" .....you can easily get businesses that want to expose their biz to Car Buyers. Could you clarify that?
The advertisers paid -- or the distributors? The plumbers, etc. paid to be in the booklet -- or the real estate co's paid for the booklets -- or both paid?!!? Please clarify the biz model. Thanks! -- TW |
Re: Coupon Book for Home Buyers
These were FREE to Realtors and Car Dealers. Advertisers usually paid $495 for their ad....and I usually got 25 to 30 advertisers.
However....I also did "Welcome Books" that were Mailed to New Home Buyers (when people were buying homes) ...each month. I charged $150 SetUp and $150/mo to mail 100 Books each month. Took me about a month to set one up in each town. Don Alm |
