Branding vs. USP...

I'd like to know if BRANDING is a modern version of USP or Unique Selling Proposition/Unique Selling Point? Is there really any difference between the two today? Looking for your expert answers insight and opinions. By the way... How is Gordon doing? Best wishes for everyone! donsonic

What does branding means for your company... These days many companies go for brands and branding and its very necessary in this fast world... its very helpful step as well for the companies and company owners as well....

Hi Phil and everyone!

Sorry you haven't heard from me for a little while... I've been dealing with some personal issues myself over the past week, which have been time- and energy-consuming...

I just spoke with Gordon. He's getting himself medically looked after in Florida. Hopefully once his health is better he'll contribute more here, however, he has to think more about his own health right now, that's his top priority, as I'm sure everyone understands...

I plan to post more on various issues soon!

For me:

* Branding = the process of making space in the prospects minds for yourself. Simplistically, Branding = impact * repetition.

* USP = angle you take, hook you create to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

Both of them are 2 distinct animals. A good USP goes a long way in beneficial branding (as a good USP = makes a strong impact).
