even the big guys make silly mistakes...

1) I saw a TV ad for Time Warner cable (one of the biggest, if not the biggest cable providers in the world) - at the end, showed their 800# and listed the website as:

timwarnercable.com.

This was a national ad.

2) Just today I cancelled one of my car rental reservations that I had with Budget. The automated email they sent to me had this as the first sentence:

You reservation was cancelled.

I wonder if Tim Warner the comedian, Tim Warner the professor of vascular inflammation, or Tim Warner the cartoonist are unhappy about all the cable queries they now get, or if they're happy about their new-found fame?! :)

Thanks for those, Tim!

I think a hilarious source of funny mistakes is the website www.engrish.com ... especially look at their "Most Popular" section... http://www.engrish.com/most-popular/

These are funny signs in bad "English" mostly from various Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, etc.), though a few are from non-Asian countries too...

Here are a few funny ones!

The "bargain" item is not always the best...!

Poor Wang!

The "burned mutton" may be the most enticing meal here! :)

Best wishes!

Good ol' Wonders and Blunders ...

Photoshop techniques make the print ads more appealing and expressive. However, if used carelessly, it can harm your brand image... ;)

When I'm in Europe, it always amazes me to see t-shirts with sayings on them in English, but with misspellings and/or incorrect grammar.

If you're manufacturing t-shirts, can't you at least go to the trouble of checking the English to make sure it's correct? If only to make sure your customers don't look like fools.

I was in a pizza place in Spain -- the waitress was wearing a t-shirt with a saying in English. I asked he if she knew what the saying meant. She said she did not. I forget what the saying was, but it was (at least) written correctly. But it did get me thinking -- if you're gonna wear a t-shirt that says something in a foreign language, wouldn't at least want to know what it says (BEFORE you decide to buy/wear it)?!?

Things that make you go "Hhmmmm."
