UUUggghhh - it never ends! (bad slogans 'r us)...

"Change your life, 360-degrees!!"

Ummm, that points you in the SAME direction as before (NO change).

As always, the real question is, HOW does this stuff get past the 1st 'board' meeting?

Heheh - that's a funny one!

Thanks, TW, for sharing it! :)

Here's another quite strange (but apparently real) ad...!

I don't know if you can read the ad, but it's an ad for a gift you can give your true love on Valentine's day...

... a prepaid funeral!

Ah, yes, romance is not dead...

(but it could be some day, so you might as well plan ahead)...

I got it from this page, which has a few more... http://www.thedailytribute.com/5-wor...t-ad-mistakes/

:)

Best wishes,

Dien

Many years ago the Ace Hardware TV + radio spots featured John Madden exclaiming, "I don't know ANYTHING about hardware, so I go to Ace Hardware!!!"

I see his point, but it's definitely ambiguous!

OH MAN! -- I give up!...

Now I've seen it all (bad slogan - wise)...

Just saw a Target TV spot -- spends 28/30 seconds following around a cute-as-a-button 5 year old girl.

OK, good job on the heart-warming.

Then comes the final 2 seconds -- with the CREEPY slogan!...

Target LOGO (bulls-eye) is superimposed over cute kid -- then the slogan shows in words...

"Life is a moving target."

As God is my witness, I am NOT making this up!

A bull's eye over a kid, with "Life is a moving target"

How does this stuff get apporved?!?!!?!?

I remember when I was called a "DUMMY" and an "IDIOT"!

Hi TW...

This reminds me of the "... For Dummies" books... or the "Complete Idiot's Guide to..." books.

Hey, they seem to sell. But some people hate 'em... They won't buy them. Why?

Because buying one is admitting you're an "IDIOT" or a "DUMMY"!

Other books which are similar are the "... Demystified" series of books. Like "Chemistry Demystified" (for example). There's no stigma with these. But is it as catchy?

You gotta admit... Calling your customer an "IDIOT" or a "DUMMY" jogs your memory... You don't forget!

Sometimes it seems to work...!

...As long as the customer doesn't take it too seriously! :)

Best wishes,

Dien

Hi Dien...

Yes, I see your point about the Dummies books. The Madden/Ace thing is a little different -- The books are advice FOR "dummies" [presumably from/by experts].

-- Conversely, with Ace Hardware, Madden seemed to be saying, "*I* am a dummiy, so take my advice [?!?!?]" -- in other words, it was advice *from* a dummy!!! -- which makes no sense.

The 'big' companies just don't get it.

How many baby boomers?

Companies like Faygo, Vachon, Hersheys, Dr. Pepper, as just a few

Faygo - boomers grew up on the Faygo Black Bart Commercials, and the Faygo boat song...put these back on...it will trigger the boomers desire for Faygo

Vachon changed their product (tastes different) and packaging (Jos Louis)...peolpe stopped buying...change them back...there is a big boomer market wishing they tasted as they used to...wasn't the removal of additives...they changed the ratio of cake and filling.

Hershey bought out Lowney's and switched the chocolate on the Oh Henry bar to to Hershey formula...bar never tasted the same again...change it back and get the boomers back.

Dr. Pepper just doesn't taste the same as when I was growing up...couldn't put my finger on what was different...then last summer was eating black sweet cherries while drinking a can of Dr. Pepper...the missing taste..they reduced the cherry in the drink....eat a cherry and follow it up with a swig of Dr. Pepper and you have the Dr. Pepper we used to know and love to drink and buy.

And finally as to stupid commercials...Taco Bell had a real bluinder....the taco neck ad. Didn't stay around long, but probably long enough to do some damage... after my kids viewed it they no longer wanted to go to Taco Bell for food as they were afraid they would end up with Taco neck...and they still don't go to Taco Bell.

didnt last long enough fir me to get a photo but Kroger had a billboard by the highway with a langy , smiling brunette pointing her finger to the text which read
"I GET MY GAS AT KROGER"... dumb ass should have left it up , done a video , set it up on youtube to go viral, ( which I suggested ) but they took it down and replaced with the same ol same old.

A NEW Trend in T-Shirt Slogans

Hi,

Thanks.

A very successful friend of mine had a brilliant idea about T-shirt and Car Advertising.

You can tell he really did some thinking on this.

Don said, "Why Advertise for the car dealer you bought the car from. Put
your OWN offer and Ph # on your car. And he did.

AND

"Why wear a T-shirt that advertises a big company or a movie? Silk screen
your Business onto your T-shirt!

And he did. Every small Business owner he does it for doubles their income!
Just by walking around with their business on their shirt.

Ok.

Here are some of the T-SHIRT Slogans I've spotted girls wearing in the mall
or in Sports Bars that serve alcohol. Some of these places have incredibly
high quality Meals for 10 bucks...

I've been writing these down for a while. Had no idea what to do with them
The only thing we know for sure is they reflect a desire for ATTENTION by younger women.

"My Door IS Always Open"

"Get Down on It"

"White Trash with Money"

"I Wish These Were Brains"

"My Face is Up Here"

"I Love To Boogie" - )Pic of a cat)

"Will Sell Boyfriend for Chocolate"

"I Need a Hug"

"Boys Come - Boys Go"

"Enjoy the Ride"

"Used"

"KISS ME"

"It's Only Bad if You Get Caught"

Thanks,
Glenn

P.S. - My clients in ITaly and a few other European countries tell me TV and
magazine ads there feature nude models. Maybe this is the forerunner of
some kind of culture shift in the USA?

My current Ebay Auction..."Exactly HOW A Waitress Made 3K to 5K a day and Bought Her Own Restaurant." YUP. She wore a T-shirt with a Slogan too.

It SAid, "My Customers Are VIP'S"
