The World's Largest Christmas Stocking
Greetings Group,
Been flying low and collecting the dough and this Christmas is turning out to be quite a hit for me. Here's my flyer As you read through the flyer you can see it's a promotional for businesses to drive in more business. But I twisted this promotional and made it available to parents and grandparents who want to give their children or grandchildren an amazing gift this Christmas. How I came up with the idea is due to a friend of my daughter. She saw my flyer on the printer. She asked me about it and I told her what it was all about. Now get this. This 10 year old asked me if she could pass out the fliers to all of her adult family members and if they bought The World's Largest Christmas Stocking would I pay her a commission? I told her that for every one she sold I would give her $10. She agreed and took a handful of these fliers. This was yesterday. Today I owe her $120. Thought I'd pass along another twisted idea. Peace |

Re: The World's Largest Christmas Stocking
Phil,
Here is another twist to my model. After each buyer has received their stocking, I shoot them a money making email. "Now that you have in your possession, The World's Largest Christmas Stocking how would you like to get some of that money back from your purchase?" "All you have to do is print out my flyer and give a copy to your friends, family and coworkers. If they buy one I will give you $10 for that purchase. If 13 people you know each buys this stocking, then your gift to your son or daughter just paid for itself." I recommend that they show this stocking to those people so they can see it for themselves. I then go on to advise them how to put a personal SKU identifier on the flyer so I know who referred them. I've built some interest with this angle, because money is tight but parents and grandparents don't want to skimp at Christmas time. It's just one way to help this group get what they want and promote my product which only generates more sales. Which by the way, anyone here wanting to purchase The World's Largest Christmas Stocking for your children or grandchildren then download my flyer and give me a call. If you're not going to use it as a promotional the stocking is also sold by itself. Here's the flyer |
Re: The World's Largest Christmas Stocking
Gotta hand it to you, Woody!
I can't imagine ANYBODY paying that kind of money for one of those stockings. Over the years, I've seen them at a few locations around my home field - several local McDonald's locations have used them for in-store promos. Mind boggling ... thanks for sharing. Robert J. |
Re: The World's Largest Christmas Stocking
Hey Robert,
Quote:
It's all in the presentation and what I will do for the customer. For example I just placed an order for a mom with 2 children. She wanted to know if I could have one stocking made up for just a boy and the other for just a girl. I contacted the supplier and they said, "Not a problem". Called the customer right back and within in 15 minutes I invoiced her for two 8 Ft Christmas Stockings totaling $326.00. Customer wanted convenience and custom made stockings for her children. That's what sold here. Not to mention this mother doesn't have to shop for her children now. Christmas shopping is over. The other angle is like you mention, no one can imagine anyone buying. Which is what makes selling these stockings easy. It's different and no one ever sees these types of items on the store selves. Not to mention, consumers put a different value on bundled items, even when it's cheaper to buy each toy separately. It's worth the extra because it's big, 18 toys, not sold in stores, only once a year, unique & and parents and grandparents want to WOW!!! their children and grandchildren at Christmas time. |
