Computer Problem

Hope some of you computer experts can help. I know this isn't marketing/biz related so I'll keep it short.

Just recently I'm not able to preview any books on amazon
when I use Chrome or Firefox.

IE at first was doing the same thing. But now
it seems to be working just fine.

This was not the case just days ago.

When I click to view, it just basically refreshes the page.

I have not done anything out of the ordinary lately.

Also when I go to sign in to AOL, the rotating picture/news on the front page will not cycle through automatically or manually.

Anyone know what could possibly be wrong or what I could do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Fred

Re: Computer Problem

This seems like a javascript related issue because both amazon and aol feature you're talking about use heavy javascript.

1. Upgrade everything. Browsers. Flash. Java.
2. Clear everything. Cache. Temporary files. The free software Phil recommends - ccleaner - is a good one.
3. Make sure javascript is enabled in your browser.

(Are you on Vista by any chance? I've heard Vista giving weird javascript related problems before... if thats the case, update your vista version too.)

Re: Computer Problem

Thanks Phil,

I do run regular maintenance. I did a test yesterday. I spoke with my sister-in-law over the phone and had her to pull up AOL using her Chrome browser. She confirmed the same exact thing.

So I'm not so sure now that anything is wrong at all with my computer.

Thanks for the resource suggestions, I will definitely put some of them to use.

Ankesh,

Thank you for the reply.

I've done all the steps you just outlined except the last.

I do run Vista on my computer. I will try updating it and see what happens.

Thanks again.

Fred
