Yale University Makes its vast collection of Digital Images available for free
The important thing is that it will also be in the public domain!
Why is this important? If it is really in the public domain, that means that these images can be used to create commercial products, or to include them as part of commercial products... "The goal of the new policy is to make high quality digital images of Yale's vast cultural heritage collections in the public domain openly and freely available." Note also that, due to the vastness of its collection...
