This reminds me of the story that Bill Myers tells of a client of his who was wanting to produce a video for young men in the ghetto to teach them how to climb the ladder of success. When Bill asked how the prospective customer was going to be able to pay for the video ($50), or even watch it, the producer realized his marketing plan had a flaw. You have to have a customer with an understanding of and a desire for your product, and a WAY TO PAY FOR YOUR PRODUCT. Donsonic, if your desire is truly to help the under-employed, you may need to examine WHY they are under-employed (perhaps you have already studied this). You may have to practically GIVE your product away (because they don't have the money to buy it)...which can be counter-productive because then it is perceived to be of a lower value since it was "cheap". Granted, there are a few examples of the under-privileged, low-income, under-employed who have risen to the top...but if I was wanting to produce a sizable income from sales of an e-book, I would choose another target market. Be blessed, JDB |
