IBM is the #1 patent holder in the USA
 

Why then is IBM now open-sourcing ALL of their patents? They are giving up their monopoly. Just curious to see what Sowpubbers think.

Always good to include a Mix of Different perspective's/opinions around the Web, just in case SowPubber's have absolutely [No] idea on What's going on, looking around, etc, etc... :)

From what I have "discovered" is that it is MORE PROFITABLE for them to open source. Gives them more access to "others" and their "ideas".

Open source means, all tech heads will jump in and make stuff. And "IBM compatible" will mean something again.
