Not for Everybody! ... :)

“It’s the biggest opportunity I’m ever going to see in my lifetime,” said Kennedy, 40.

Their Seattle-based private-equity firm, Privateer Holdings, is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation to focus exclusively on marijuana.

But Kennedy and Blue won’t be alone for long.

Votes in Washington and Colorado last month to legalize pot for recreational use turbocharged marijuana as a legitimate business opportunity.

Business people packed a marijuana industry conference in Denver the day after the election, and shares of publicly traded companies spiked — one that sells marijuana vending machines jumped 3,000 percent — on giddy enthusiasm.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for posting that. When I read that marijuana would be legalized in Washington state and Colorado, I did think, some people will profit from this...

Every change will usually represent an opportunity for someone, and that includes legislative changes.

Another phenomenon which will probably happen is "marijuana tourism" as happened in Holland. That's when people travel, primarily to smoke marijuana legally.

The Dutch government didn't like it, and this year banned tourists (i.e. people who are not Dutch residents) from buying marijuana.

It's interesting to observe how changes bring opportunities (even if you don't want to necessarily be involved in them yourself)...

Best wishes,

Dien
