The "pouring jiffy lube" = "pouring a refreshing cup of coffee" is so blatant, it had to be on purpose...

I think so... Our brain works on connections. They're hoping you'll get the same warm feeling from pouring their motor oil as you would from pouring your morning cup of coffee...

Yes, it works... The power of association. Associate what you are selling with something which will make your buyer feel the way you want them to feel...

Think farmers... What does that make you think of? For many people, farmers symbolize... honesty, integrity, "salt of the earth", "telling it like it is", they're not "tricky" like them "city slickers" are...
