Re: Money-Making Note
Interesting. Just to tack on to this, here's the link and the first paragraph to an article:
http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/how...-stay-friendly On February 26, 2015 Google gave marketers incredible insight into changes they have planned for their search algorithms and the exact day they will go into effect. Specifically, they announced that on April 21, 2015 mobile search engine results pages (SERPs) will be impacted by the mobile-friendliness of a website. |

Re: Money-Making Note
According to what I've seen from Google so far this will be a much harder impact than both the Panda & Penguin.
I'm already getting messages from HostGator wanting me to purchase some "get mobile friendly" products they've come up with. Most of my sites are WordPress, and easily made mobile friendly with plugins. For anyone who isn't sure about the mobile friendliness of their sites here's the URL of Google's mobile friendly tester page: https://www.google.com/webmasters/to...obile-friendly Just plug in your domain. |
Re: Money-Making Note
Most cellphone user pay for data usage, so it's nasty to do a search on your cellphone and wind up clicking on some link you can't read. I expect mobile users and searches will be the target of Google's ranking that is displayed on the users device. That's good!
On the other-hand.... corporate researchers, investigative journalists, and a whole slew of users do searches from their desktop computers can't be ignored. If they were, then Google would start losing ground to Bing and Yahoo (who is getting more popular again since they replaced Google as the default search inside Firefox browsers) It stands to reason, Google isn't going to do this. Let's forget about all of these people who are writing articles about this and using headlines to scare the heck out of everyone. Here is what Google said: "Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.So.... on the desktop, they are NOT favoring MOBILE-FRIENDLY websites and this change only affects "mobile searches".
