There are Maniacs on the Road!
And this one was in a Bouncer motor home!
She drove from Redding, California (just inside the border from Oregon) to Pahrump, Nevada via Bakersfield in 13 hours! Stopping only long enough for gas and a sandwich. Wouldn't let the relief driver behind the wheel and kept the invalid strapped to the passenger seat! The relief driver was relegated to answering the cell phone and telling everyone calling that "He'd better have that kitchen clean when we get home - or else!" It didn't matter that the person on the phone wasn't my youngest brother Ken... My mother is a 72 year old - hell on wheels - maniac when she has a destination in sight! But, everyone is safe and at home. They arrived in Pahrump last night about 10:00 PM and Dad finally got to sleep in his own bed for the first time since mid-December! Thank you, everyone, for praying for my Dad and for sending him those emails. As soon as they get their second phone line in, he will be answering them. Sell your site while sitting in traffic! |
Re: There are Maniacs on the Road!
Hi Steve,
I'm glad your Dad is doing well and everyone's made it home safely.... Next time, please, a bit of extra warning when your Mom has a long drive ahead so we can have extra time to get out of the way! ;) (Heheh, kidding, kidding.... :)) I've driven long drives several times -- mostly between Sydney and Melbourne in Australia.... It's about 600 miles or so. I can't do it without lots of rest breaks (usually I'm driving alone). Your Mom's got stamina! - Dien |
Geee! I will let her know...
that people in Australia are worried about her "hell on wheels" attitude when she gets behind the wheel.
