$3,000 a Month - Placemat advertising with a twist!

Well... If you've been on this forum for a while, you'll know those posts from the past about making money by putting ads on placemats...

How it works, you see... Is you find a willing restaurant, and offer them free placemats. Then, you find advertisers for the placemats... You collect the money, that pays for the placemats, and it's a "win" for all!

The restaurant gets the placemats for free, advertisers get to reach the restaurant's patrons, and you get to put some green in your jeans!

Here's another twist on the idea... This guy has been making $3,000 a month with this twist...

Instead of a restaurant, he offers the placemats to universities!

In addition, he can put the university's own messages on the placemats too.

It gives the universities another way to communicate with their students... Local businesses get to promote to the students. And, again, he gets cash in the bank...

You can read more about making moolah with university placemats here...!

A Version of Gordon's Postcard

Good find, Dien.

This idea is similar to Gordon's postcard.

The university is the "host".

The advertisers get to trade on the "implied endorsement" (referral) of the host.

They also get access to the customers in an exclusive and unique way
that isn't available anywhere else.

The ad prices could easily be doubled.

It's a great idea. Too bad the postcard threads here were deleted.

Why? Why is it "too bad" they were deleted?

Over the 15 years, there have been hundreds of threads deleted for one reason or another. Yet, there are THOUSANDS of threads which remain and are full of useful actionable information provided by the participants.

What is too bad for one or two people might be very good for others.

Lots of forums out there to discuss just about anything someone wants to discuss, including the selling of advertising.

Are you censoring good ideas?

"Why? Why is it "too bad" they were deleted?"

Why is it a good idea to delete good, profitable ideas?

Ya got me there. I don't have a clue.

As Dien's placemat post shows, the idea is a profitable one
in many forms.

I do something very similar with business cards.

I didn't know we were censoring ideas here. I'll keep that in mind

Political rants are the ONLY topics censored.

Keep whatever you want in mind, but keep it truthful.

Dien and I agree political rants have no place here. IF I had my way, I'd censor all discussion about MLM and especially those with supplements being sold. BUT, Dien doesn't agree with me on that one, so, if you have an mlm supplement, as long as it isn't just a blatant ad, it is accepted.

Even political opinion and differing views have been left alone, only those rants which are attacks have been deleted.

EVERY poster has the ability to go into his/her thread and alter it, or delete it completely, we've never restricted that either.

As for censorship, we don't practice it here, unless as stated above, but keep in mind this isn't a free for all post anything you want forum either.

I find it offensive Ron that you have chosen to use the word censorship.

All ideas, good and bad are welcome here AND

the Original Poster has the control of his/her thread unless it crosses the line and we have to make a decision on it.

There have been many posters who gave ideas, then later decided the idea was too good or bad, and maybe it created a vortex of time wasters.

But as for it being "too bad" or not, and as the Dude might say, "Oh yea, well that's your opinion."

Hi Ron,

That's a great connection... I didn't see that.

I was in a chat about entrepreneurship about a week ago...

I said, whatever I do, I try to do it in a way that's "WIN/WIN"...

If it's not "WIN/WIN" I'm not interested...

Why?

It's a long term view...

Sure, maybe I can do a "win/lose" type of deal - where I win, and the other guy loses. But they'll never want to deal with me again...

I'd rather make money over, and over, and over... Rather than just once...

These things are all "WIN/WIN"... Whether the restaurant placemat deal, or the postcard deal...

That's what makes them great...!!!

By the way, I think people can detect your "mindset"... Certainly, smart, successful people can. It's not hard to tell if someone has a "WIN/WIN" mindset... or a "screw you" type of mindset...

If they know you're a "WIN/WIN" type of person, they'll be happier to work with you... And use their resources. Their money, their intelligence, their contacts!

And... that's valuable...

Okay, better get off the soapbox, before I slip... :)

Best wishes,

Dien

Dien, thanks for noticing

No special insight, Dien.

I"m familiar with the "placemat style" ad program, so I understand the benefits to all the parties.

I like the long term view, too.

From my experience, there are some subtle changes, that would make this program much more valuable to the advertisers
the university and the program creator.

Unfortunately, as my posts are being deleted these days, there's no sense in going into a lot of detail.

Also, while "mindset" is important, people are more inclined to judge you by your "actions".
What you "do" speaks louder to them, than what you say, i.e. underpromise but overdeliver.

Just my observations.

Thanks again, Dien.
