How to make company more eco-friendly
Our company is launching a program in a few months that aims to make our office more eco-friendly. My friend has been put in charge and she's rather at a loss on where to start. Any suggestions?

Re: How to make company more eco-friendly
Hi, that's an interesting idea being an eco friendly is like going green right? In my opinion that training or program must focus in saving money in terms of cutting down your resources expense and increasing efficiency. By the way, I don't have enough idea to share, all I know is your plan could be beneficial too as an investment in human resources as well.

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've been doing some research during my free time to help her and I found out that we can actually hire a energy management company to help us figure out how we can save. i haven't told my friend yet though because she's been in a meeting all day. |

Hi Leanora, I thought I'd throw my two cents into the discussion. I think any program like this has to start with MINDSET. Eco-friendly practices need to be incorporated into the culture. So, you'll need an overriding statement of purpose. Just as an example: "All of our business activities will be done in the most eco-friendly manner possible." Then, all business decisions, purchases and goals can be looked at through that lense. Also, you will need a majority of people on-board with being eco-friendly. I think the best way to do that is to get their input on how to be more eco-friendly. They will probably have a ton of ideas (some good and some bad). Being able to have a say will give them enough ownership to give the program an initial boost. If you start by hiring an outside energy consultant you could very possibly alienate people who have good ideas and they will be less likely to participate. You could still hire the consultant, just not in the beginning. Areas of concern for the environment: * Power consumption * Recycling * Cleaning chemicals * Paper use I hope that helps. Leanora - Proven Eco-Friendly Idea #1
Thanks for the Question Leanora,
I have a Bunch of my Clients using this (ECO-FRIENDLY) Report to ADD VALUE to home owners in S*Ales situations. 5 minutes ago - talked to a Guy in Atlanta who gave away this ONE PAGE REPORT on how to Save 1000.00 a year off your Energy Bill to a Home Owner. Result? They bought his 7000.00 Water Cleaning System. Dunno any REASON WHY this wouldn't help you at your office too. ======== ======== How a Home Owner Makes An EXTRA $1320 A Year By Switching to LED Light Bulbs Hi, I had a Big Hole in my Wallet. But I plugged it. Here’s why my 142.00 a mo electric bill dropped to 32.00 a mo. I replaced The Incandescent and Fluorescent Bulbs in our house w/Super Efficient LEDs. After testing 4 different screw in LED Bulbs. I liked the Cree 9.5 watt best. The Amazon Link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Our 3 Bathroom Mirrors have 4 Bulbs over them. But the darn Cree LED is SO BRIGHT I unscrewed 3 bulbs - use one. The 4 Bedrooms got an LED (SO Bright I Use 1 Bulb instead of three.) The Living Rm, Dining Rm, Family room, Kitchen, Laundry room, hallway, Front & Back Door entrances, Basement and Garage - all got replacement LED bulbs. 15 LED Bulbs put $110.00 a month into my pocket. OH YEAH. My Dad put motion detectors on all 4 corners of the house. And the Porch. Heard a noise one night. A Racoon was eating the Cats Food on the front Porch. Using Our Flood Lights! Then I caught a Fat Groundhog eating the flowers. And a deer eating my Sweet Potato Plants. And I was Paying so they could SEE BETTER to eat Breakfast, lunch and dinner at our Expense. NO MORE. I taped over the motion detectors! Just bought a New Pair of Shoes with some of my Extra Money. Glenn ======= ======= Glenn Osborn M*illionaire Mastermind Marketing Association |
Leanora - Proven M*ILLION D*ollars Per Year Eco-Friendly Idea #2
Thanks Leanora,
Years ago - when I was Running the Housing Dept at a University the PRes of the college gave a speech. "We just lost M*illion d*ollar amounts from county, State and Federal Agencies so if anyone has any ideas to MAKE MORE MUNNY Come See me!" So I Did. AFTER I walked thru the entire college to count the # of Fluorescent Light fixtures. Then got an Electrician Genius to help me do the math. I Showed The PRes PROOF we could Save 300Grand a yr every year. How? Install Motion Detectors in all the Classrooms and hallways where lights were left on night and day. After some tests were done in ONE ROOM. Motion detectors went up in all classrooms, offices, halls and even stairways. What I couldn't Calculate that boosted savings over a M*ILLION BUCKS. Was the savings in HEAT LOAD. Turns out if the lights aren't on all summer - the AC runs a LOT LESS and the Electric Bill (And AC Repair Bill) Falls like a rock. Dunno how big Your Company office building is. But this could be a M*illion D*ollar "Eco-Friendly" idea for you too. Thanks, Glenn Osborn |
Leanora - Proven Eco-Friendly Idea #3
Thanks Leanora,
I have a neighbor with a garden on her roof. A client in Sweden has grass on her roof. She lets Goats jump up there to eat the grass so she does not have to mow it. NOT saying you have to do this yourself. But there are Companies in most cities now - that can QUOTE you statistics and come out and Do the Math on How much You will save on AC and electric bills if you Replace a built up Roof. (That soaks up sun like a sponge.) With a Green Garden roof Instead. Worth Checking out. Plus The Vegetables are a big benefit too. Thanks, Glenn |
Glenn's idea #2 got Ron's attention
Glenn,
Some years ago, I owned an electrical supply business. Reading your post, reminded me that there is a lot of money to be made in that space. Especially, today. The opportunities are all around, if you are paying attention. I won't be writing any reports on the subject but I am going to put a couple of people on the detail. Thanks for the reminder, Glenn.
