Got garbage? There's profit in that...

A couple of young entrepreneurs in Sydney, Australia, are trying to disrupt office waste collection services.

Whereas the standard there is for 2 year contracts, they have just 30-day contracts. And people can book their waste collection and recycling services online.

(Residential waste is picked up for free by the city government, but businesses have to organize their own waste collection.)

Hey, good luck to them! Hopefully their business can be a success!

You can read more about it here...

Don't turn up your nose at it... There can be a lot of money in garbage. Many people don't know this, but Wayne Huizenga, who started the Blockbuster Video chain, made his first fortune by building up a huge fleet of garbage trucks...

Best wishes,

Dien

Harry Wayne Huizenga (/haɪˈzɛŋɡə/, born December 29, 1937) is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He has been involved in the founding of three Fortune 500 corporations and is responsible for six New York Stock Exchange listed companies. He has also been an owner of three top tier professional sports franchises. (from Wikipedia).

His biography is a must read, in my opinion. He borrowed money, ran his truck and worked up to 18 hours a day, personally driving it and dumping trash cans. I think his work ethic and his amazing achievements deserve a little time.

THREE Fortune 500 companies. Over 2 BILLION NET WORTH.

Changed the game in trash. But as brilliant as he is at BUSINESS, the fact he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, goes a long way...

and it is something we see lacking in the whole IM crowd.

Great lessons from one of America's great success stories.

PS. And trash isn't going away anytime soon, I hear there are plans to build a huge island of garbage/trash in the S. China Sea, we can't yet send it to the moon, can we?
