"Come in, she said, I'll give you shelter from the storm." Bob Dylan

Relieved, I gave a weary sigh
little did I know it then
her shelter was,
just a lulling eye
and in a massive hurricane the violent winds
yet form
while I accepted, her shelter from the storm

Bob Dylan and the Nobel prize, that's something isn't it?

I like to explore the early works of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, even Gordon Lightfoot to see how they evolved through their Parades of their lives.

In the early morning rain,
past shadows dark and deep
it's not somebody whos seen the light
the answer is blowin in the wind.

Great stuff.

Ah, Gordon Lightfoot has "touched the magic" more than once, hasn't he?

I love the guys and gals, who can sit down with a piano or guitar and just do it. No studio effects. No canned sound track. Just them and their pure, raw talent.

James Taylor, Carol King...just amazing.

Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin, who left us too early.

Dylan had that magic touch. He's on record admitting he can't do it anymore.
That's okay, Bob, you've more than justified your place in our memories

Leonard Cohen is wonderful.

"Everybody knows that you love me baby.
Everybody knows that you really do.
Everybody knows that you've been faithful.
ah, give or take a night or two.

Everybody knows that you've been discreet
there was so many people you just had to meet
without your clothes, and everybody knows."

Willie Nelson, so gifted, as a writer and performer. There are many, many others.

Bless all of them for making our lives better.

Willie's inspiration:

"you were always on my mind"

which is why I keep my gun close by

As Harry Chapin oft sang in Bananas, the country verse, a dog, truck and steel guitar goes a long way and a gun an maybe a curse.

We've had a life of great music, art and entertainment and when the Indians clinch the series, finally one of sport

Ain't waitin for the Browns, I got my 64 Jim Brown jersey for that one.

... predicted the 2016 World Series Champion 51 years ago when he released this gem. It's about the Chicago Cubs and the problem they're going to have in their next game in Cleveland:

I hear the drum a pounding
the Tribe is flyin high

the river ain't on fire
and the flats ain't very dry

Echoes of Rocky screeching in the air
Satchel, Lou and Lemon
Feller, Doby, Veeck

From home plate to the teepee
in the upper deck

We'll yell and scream, root and roar
and when the Indians win the series

they'll be cheering at the shore!
