ADOBE ACROBAT
I read a post from dave Roberts, dated Nov. 1/2000. He was saying that you can order Adobe Acrobat from http://www.journeyed.com at $99.00, and another CD version of Acrobat 5.0 (not supposed to be available until April 1 ?)at only $59.00. I went to the site and it is available only to Students and teachers - you have to provide proof. This is a real pity, since I am only a Civil Servant. Is there any other website that offers discounts on Adobe Acrobat, for the purpose of creating e-books ?

Re: ADOBE ACROBAT
Ken --
Search around for an older version of Acrobat such as 3.0 or 4.0. I've seen 3.0 for as little as $30 when I was shopping for other things. It's worth a look. There are some free alternatives but in my opinion it's better to go with the real deal. HTMLDoc and Ghostscript coming to mind as freebies. Hope that helps. -- Dan Butler The Naked PC newsletter Make your computer fun again... |

Probably only minimal Ken. Another freebie alternative is Gymnast from http://www.gymnast.com/ Also I believe tha you can get up to 4 documents converted for free on the Adobe website. They know that once you have used it, you will realise there is nothing like the real thing. You are probably much better off than us anyway, as prices in Australia are quite a bit higher than the good old USA. I can now say that Adobe support do support us now much better than used to be the case. I really was impressed with the follow-up to my recent fairly serious problem. magic tricks you can do |
