People have been doing coin set collecting for generations. The hobby ebbs and flows. What really kicked off this latest surge was the state quarter program. That put the spark back into coin collecting. The hobby is now hot but at some point the market will become oversaturated and prices/interest will fall. I was the marketing director for Jamestown Stamp Company, which got into coins in the early ninetes.
