Hi, Jill,

Radio Shack has a little 'pickup' mike that attaches to the bottom of your phone to record conversations. You need to do the following, however, to be legal:

Tell, and record, the person (address by name) that the conversation is being recorded and ask if that is okay with them. If they don't speak up, ask them to repeat their response so the recorder can pick it up. This is your safety net for legality so don't skim past this.

It used to be (not sure if it still is but the phone company could tell you) that you had to have a beep every 10 seconds. I think the intro that I just ran through above circumvents this but check to be sure.
