Default Good is as Good does

Darren:

The online systems I am refering to are list management scripts.

You see, Pegasus is a desktop program. It runs on your computer. So if you use it to send email to a large list it will take time. (You will have to wait for it.)

When sending email to a large list which is handled by a web-based script, once you click the send button you are free to go about your "work." The website which hosts the script will do everything that is necessary to send your mail out.

NOTE: Some scripts require you to also wait for them to finish before you can continue browsing. Read the information about the script before installing it.

By the way... with using scripts you basically have two choices...

1: Run the script on your own website. Either buy the script or use a free one and install it. (Some website hosts provide free mailing list software with your hosting package.)

2: Use a third party list management script. These are hosted elsewhere and you use their services. (Just like using Hotmail.) Three examples of theses types of service are: GetResponse.com, Sendfree.com and InformationByEmail.com. There are lots more than these. A search on Google will give you plenty to choose from.

Some people (subscribers) prefer their email to be on an independent (third party) system. Makes it easier to unsubscribe.

Some people don't really care either way. (As long as the email address being sent to is not a hotmail or yahoo email address.)

Hope this helps.
