Joe,

The clock advertisement is for a new product so having a testimonial component to the ad probably isn't necessary... at some point down the road after the clock has been out and working for a while then I agree that testimonials would work.

The free coin ad probably doesn't need testimonials to be effective. That ad has been around for years now so the concept is solid.

As far as headlines go, certainly stonger headlines may well be found but I would guess SCI does some headline testing before the ad is rolled out to a large audience. That testing process would definitely apply to the free coin ad, which again has been out there for a while now and has proven its worth.
