I love reading catalogs!
Good catalog copy evokes another world - a kind of "fantasy" world. It's a world full of unusual items and amazing gadgets.
Which brings me to my point. What is your favorite catalog? (And do they have a web site?)
Here's an entry from the J. Peterman catalog...
Quote:
1903.
I was browsing in a Paris antique shop one winter afternoon when a fitted leather train case caught my eye.
It contained silver-handled brushes, boot hooks, a straight razor, several silver-stoppered glass bottles…
One bottle was different. Encased in yew-wood, with a handwritten date: 1903.

The J Peterman catalog
www.jpeterman.com is certainly one of the most interesting to read! Though I also like a more "standard" catalog like Hammacher Schlemmer
www.hammacher.com
For example, without Hammacher Schlemmer I would never know about the "
Scooba" - the first robot that can mop your floor!
What are some other good catalogs?
(So I can enjoy reading them - while doing my best to resist temptation!

)
