Default Re: Does this make sense the way I've written it?

Thanks for agreeing! I could go on and on with this topic. I think, if you have the right marketing INSTINCTS (have your marketing head screwed on straight), you can see what's right + wrong immediately. Problem is, those instincts can lead you to conclusions that are 'distasteful.'

Many times I've asked small biz owners why they don't try telemarketing (b2b) -- they look at me like I have 3 heads! "Oh no, we couldn't do THAT!" I try to explain that telemarketing can often be the shortest distance between you and more customers.

It's partially political correctness spilling over into marketing. Send out a Kennedy-style sequential direct mail compaign, at the owner of the company starts 'worrying' about what the 98% of the recipients who throw the letter away will think of his company (!!) -- instead of rejoicing over getting the OTHER 2% to be CUSTOMERS!

It's crazy.

It's 100 times EASIER to believe that these 'modern' LYING-IN-WAIT marketing methods (search engine, pay per click, etc.) will bring in the same # of customers as good old-fashioned INTRUSIVE advertising.

As people get wise to this (via ROI), there will be a shift towards MORE intrusive advertising. Now, when you go to a news video online, it is held HOSTAGE by a good old-fashioned TV ***ADVERTISEMENT*** -- which is how it SHOULD be!

More intrusive = more effective.

People throw rotten eggs at me when I say that --- but it's TRUE!
