Kitsch

Well, that explains why a business article which mentioned a certain car refered to it as a bling bling.

Ages ago I also had to ask the question "What does Kitsch mean?" People were using it all over the place and I couldn't see any connection.
It's like something - an object - would be said to be kitsch. Then an overall look would also be said to be kitsch.
Well, now my dictionary has the word - doesn't have other more common words but it has kitsch. And it says, "pretentious or worthless art, literature, etc."
So I guess maybe you could also call it Shabby Chic.
Oh man... what's with all these terms? My brain hurt. Scuse me while I lay down for a while. :o)
