Default Finding copyright-free pictures online...

Hi Nick,

I'm not sure if this will help you much with financial pictures, but it might help you with pictures in general.

Publications in general produced by the US Government are copyright-free. That includes pictures. For example, NASA pictures are copyright-free (if you wanted space pictures).

You can find pictures on government web sites this way. Let's say you wanted to find pictures of coins.

You can go to

http://images.google.com

then type in "coins site:.gov" (without the quotes).

That will give you a bunch of pictures of coins from US government web sites....



That doesn't mean that these images will necessarily be copyright-free though. Sometimes the US Government uses pictures from other sources with permission too. In those situations, the copyright remains with the original owner.

You can always contact the specific department to check to see if a particular image is copyright-free and if it can be freely used.
