Default Why don't we (of the male persuasion) ask for directions when we're lost?

Hi Michael,

I could relate to what you're saying!

It made me think of "back seat drivers" or "passenger seat drivers"....

You know, those who tell you how to drive when they are in the passenger seat or in the back seat....

Once or twice is okay with me, but if it gets too much.... I sometimes have to say light-heartedly, "Uh, who is doing the driving here?"

Of course, being your typical male I hate to ask for directions when I'm los-- err, I mean when I'm trying out a creative route to our destination. My previous girlfriends have always had a laugh at this male trait.... :) Sometimes women are very logical, and we guys are quite illogical, though we don't like to admit that it's true....

Err, I mean that it's true every now and then. ;)

Yes, I think what you're saying is really a type of independence, though it could be a kind of independence within a job. In a sense, you still have a boss when you're working for yourself, except that you have many bosses, who are your customers....

Though, ironically, I think it gives you more flexibility....

Thanks for sharing your views, Michael! I especially liked the picture you painted of the little boy who insists he can tie his own shoe-laces.... Heheh, I was like that, I bet many of us were....

Thanks... :)
