Here's the idea for an incredibly needed invention:

* A lie detector that really works.

Think about the O.J. Simpson trial. If you could have just attached Simpson to your workable lie detector on the day of his arrest, and used it to disclose whether O.J. did the deed or not, that whole long, messy, expensive trial could have been avoided.

This device by itself would improve the world in a measurable way.
