Glenn,
What I look for on eBay is BUYERS. I only want to see COMPLETED listings and I use the advanced search, mainly to put in dollar amouts.
Take advice, or ebooks or information products. I'm not interested in the 99 cent guys. I look for price points, such as 25 to 50 or more. Depends on what I'm looking at.
I find that sorting by completed listings, looking for price points, and number of bids...is all I need. IF I see something interesting, then I search by the name of the seller, again COMPLETED listings, so I can see what his/her month looks like. And if I find someone who is selling, then I track them and keep an eye on what they sell.
It probably is a lot easier using some tools, but, I enjoy doing it, have it pretty much down to a quick and easy thing for me to do...and by now, I'm pretty specific in what categories I search...and the advanced search features using COMPLETED LISTINGS (looking for Demand) always turns up some interesting things.

I've not tried that.
Perhaps I should.
