What this country needs is to start manufacturing products in this country like we did in the late 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, and 70s and limit the importing of the cheap chinese, japanese and forein imported goods. We can't compete with their prices because they pay people 12c a day in labor. If we don't allow it to enter this country, and their is a demand for that product, believe me, someone or several people will start manufacturing it and they will hire lots of people to keep up with the demand. The reason the economy was so much better and more people had jobs several decades ago, is because this country manufactured most of the products it consumed!
