No, I heard about it from you
Hi!
In the other community where I hang out I'd seen messages with the subject 'All your base are belong to us!' but I never opened them, assuming that they were posted by people to whom correct English is a second language.
So I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I've watched it a bunch of times now, with sincere admiration and appreciation. My wife likes it, too. In my earlier message I got it wrong: I should have written "For great justice, take off every zig!"
Thanks also for the link to the Tribe thread. It was quite interesting! As I said before, those retouches are a lot harder to make than they look.
There's a way to get traffic from fads like this. Make a little SWF file with Swish that has a headline and your website URL, and rename it allyourbase.swf and post it on file sharing sites--of course, don't leave yourself open to easy retaliation. Traffic you get like this won't be high quality traffic, of course, but I maintain that traffic is the seed from which all else grows. (I know I differ from many in this internet marketing community in this, though people like Sanford would probably agree. This is the global internet, after all, not a local neighborhood with a small constituency.)
Concerning fads, some time ago I suggested people read the *beautiful* Connie Willis book _Bellwether_. If anyone read it, tell me how you liked it, OK?
Best,
- Boyd
