I've yet to see a computer installation that didn't involve a huge tangle of wires behind the desk. It's ALIVE! Huge mess, that grows every Christmas.

So when it's time to replace a device, you have to dig into the tangle and trace the wire to it's end.

"Hey Maude, come here and wiggle this wire while I get under there and find it."

I saw this hanging from the back loop of a girl's pants, where she keeps her keys while shopping.



Spring it open and snap it around the wire. Then drop it into the mess. Crawl under and slide it along the wire to it's end. It works a treat.
