The first article you linked to has this tip...
"9. Remember that cuteness sells. It is a well-known fact that cute animals with funny quotes are among the category of images most likely to go viral. People like images that create a visceral reaction."
That reminded me of a story by Joe Cossman I once read. At the time, he was selling ant farms.
Here's how he used "cuteness" to get some free publicity!
Joe Cossman wrote...
"Some time ago, I had a beautiful white German Shepherd and she had nine white pups. I called all the news media - radio, the TV people in L.A., the Associated Press, and told them, 'My dog has nine white puppies.' They weren't impressed: 'Well, what's so newsy about that? A lot of dogs have nine pups.' 'She only has eight faucets!' I answered. You see, I knew that this was a human interest angle.
"They sent out a photographer. I wasn't interested in how much publicity my dog got on her pups, and neither was she, so when the photographer arrived, I had the puppies in a little box lined with Ant Farm circulars. When they took a picture of the puppies and my dog, the Ant Farm circular background went all over the United States."
(From the book "Making It!" by E. Joseph Cossman and William A. Cohen, p. 138.)
That was great creativity he used, to use "cuteness" to get some free nationwide publicity for his ant farms!
Of course, nowadays, you could also use social media, too...!
Best wishes,
