My "worry" with Bitcoin, at least in the States, is that the "gummint" tends not to like alternative currencies...
For example, you can read about the creator of "Liberty Dollars" here. He was found guilty of making "counterfeit coins" and described by some as partaking in "domestic terrorism"... (He's still waiting to be sentenced...)

I'm not saying that it's right. I'm just pointing out, in general, you don't want the government as your enemy. They will always have deeper pockets than you and more power than you have.
Having said that, there are
"private currencies" which are legal in the USA...
(The situation will probably also differ from country to country... Apparently bitcoins have been ruled to be
legal currency in Germany...)
